Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 in Pink
Okay I just couldn’t resist posting this since anything that has to do with pink catches my eye. I know it has been awhile since I last posted in my blog, and coincidentally, my friend Wayne (Hi, Wayne!) asked me at work today about my blog mentioning that he hasn’t seen any posts from me in awhile.
Anyway, I found this on Phone Arena today while comparing specs of phones that I was looking at that were on sale for boxing week. However, this device is not a phone, rather a tablet. It basically is visually similar to an iPad. Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 is available in pink starting tonight, December 21, 2015 at 9:00 PM EST! I wrote a blog post about a similar device also (Onda V919) awhile back in January 2015.
The Xiaomi Mi Pad 2 has been available since November 2015 in silver or gold, with aluminum construction. It runs Android OS, or Windows 10 if you prefer. Dimensions are 7.89 x 5.22 x 0.27 inches. Rear camera is 8 Megapixels and front camera is 5 Megapixels. Processor is Intel Atom, Quad-core, 2200 MHz, X5-Z850, 64-bit, with Intel HD graphics processor. System memory is 2048 MB RAM, with built-in storage available in 16 GB priced at C$238.50 (US$189) or 64 GB at C$339.50 (US$269). To compare, the Onda V919 cost C$196.85 back in January 2015.
If the price was C$189, I think I’d buy it. Too bad the CAD to USD currency rate isn’t doing so well at the moment. How about you, would you consider buying one? Let me know in the comments below.

Unboxing the Samsung Galaxy S III
I was due for a cellphone hardware upgrade since October 2011, but I just didn’t get it until recently. The reason why I didn’t get the upgrade right away was that I wanted to negotiate my contract first to see if I could somehow get it cheaper. I did get a few discounts for my cable/home phone/wireless bundle when I called in (internet used to be part of the bundle, but I switched over to another provider for that), and thought I would call in at a later time again to try to get a few more discounts. Anyway, since I have been very busy with everything else in my life, I didn’t get a chance to call in again. Now, the Samsung Galaxy S III (S3) is out, and I figured, oh well, just go ahead with it and whatever you currently pay for, just renew the 3-year contract.
I picked up my 32GB Marble White Samsung Galaxy S III on July 3rd, and was in love with it when I got it (currently, the other colour option is Pebble Blue). I was a bit hesitant before that to switch to an Android, since I have been a BlackBerry user for over two years and I felt I did not want to part with my BBM and BlackBerry keyboard. Anyway, I’m fine with it now, although I haven’t actually started using it.

The Samsung Galaxy S III is the flagship Android smartphone of Samsung Electronics released in 2012. Like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S II, the S III is a touchscreen-based, slate-sized smartphone, with a significant addition of software features, expanded hardware, and a redesigned physique. In particular, it employs an intelligent personal assistant (S Voice), eye-tracking ability, wireless charging, and increased storage. Depending on countries, the 4.8-inch (120 mm) smartphone comes with different processors and RAM capacity, and 4G LTE support.
Thumbs Down for Pink LG Neon TE365
Whenever I see a pink gadget, like a cellphone for instance, I usually am intrigued by it and would so love to own it and play with it.
Unfortunately, there’s this one pink phone that I do not like at all. It is cute, yes, but unfortunately, this phone is of very poor quality. 
This phone is the LG Neon TE365 phone. It comes in other colours, too. I just wanted to specifically mention this phone because it comes in pink, which is what I am easily attracted to.
I have talked with a lot of people who own this phone and the most common problem with it is that the phone keeps freezing a lot. It could be you’re making a call, typing a text message, browsing the internet, or even not doing anything at all and the phone would just freeze on you. Some people would say that they just put the phone in their pocket and then when they took it out, toink, it’s frozen.
Another problem is that this phone would just randomly turn off on its own. Same situation, whether you’re doing something or not doing anything at all.
When these happen, the solution would be is to bring the phone in for repair back to the manufacturer. But actually, even if the phone is “repaired” already, it still tends to have the same problems.
Third common problem? The keyboard gets stuck or doesn’t slide properly.
I’m wondering why they still even sell these phones. By the way, other LG phone models may tend to have the same set of problems, too, so be cautious in your decision to purchase any LG phone.
I’m sorry, LG, you know that’s the reality.
Unusual Pink Telephones
I found these four pink landline phones which to some may think it’s cool, while to others it would just be plain weird and crazy to have. Engadget mentioned two of these in their site.
First is the pink fur and rhinestone phone. Engadget didn’t have any details about it so I had to do a search for it. I found that it costs $39.99 at Distinctivetelephones.com. It looks kind of like something from Monsters inc. but still it is kind of cute in a princessy girly sort of way.
I found another pink furry phone from Cutie Pie Stuff. Aside from the base, the handset has fur on it also so I think using this would be a bit ticklish. This one is more expensive than the other one at a price of $65.00. Golly gosh.
Another phone linked in Engadget is the High Heels Phone costing $22.00 at gadget4all.com. It looks kind of cool for a decor at home, but using it would be kind of weird. Imagine putting a shoe in your ear and talking on it. Weird, eh?
Finally, here’s one that I actually do like and might even consider buying one myself. (Do I seem crazy? Oh well.) This one is a Pink Lips Phone also from gadget4all.com. It only costs $19.00. It also looks nice as a home decor if you’re the girly/fashionista type.
I love that these are all pink, but not all of them are that appealing to have. Yup, interesting though.

Hey, It’s Me!
Hello world! This is Anna Isabel Saldivar and this is my first post for this blog.
I’ve actually been writing for quite awhile. I have another blog, but it mostly contained stuff about my personal life. So, I decided to create a new one where I can talk more about my passion for technology, and less about random stuff in my life. In other words, this will be my so-called “professional” blog. But of course, it wouldn’t hurt to include some random interesting stuff from my life once in awhile.
When I was just a young kid, I already loved writing. I even remember that there was this one time that I entered a short story contest sponsored by a major national newspaper. I think what I wrote was a fictional story about a girl and a flying unicorn. (Haha! Isn’t that cute?) I didn’t win though, but it was a very memorable experience for me. Writing will always be a part of me.
Topics that I have in mind right now which I will definitely be blogging about will include social media, the web, gadgets, hardware, and just about anything else that involves technology.
Why Tech-Life in Pink? Well firstly, my favourite colour is pink. Pink also represents being a lady. I am a lady and I will be talking mostly about technology and how it affects me and my life, so that is how I came up with that.
